Unlike her peers, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore did not start as part of the famous Disney’s The Mickey Mouse Club. She was nine when she discovered that her heart is with music. When she was a kid, she was known as the “National Anthem Girl” because she used to sing the national anthem in various sports events in her hometown, Orlando Florida.

When she was fourteen, Mandy did several recording in a studio in Orlando. Nevertheless, her career began when she sent a demo tape to Sony 550 music and immediately signed a contract with it. She was fifteen when her first album “So Real” was released, and a part of it, “Candy” became a hit. Launched in 2000, her second CD was entitled “I Wanna Be With You”. Her third album called “Mandy Moore” attested that she is more than just a flash-in-the-pan for it performed well in the market too. Her third hit CD, “Coverage” came out in October 2003.

Mandy is not just a singer, she is an actress too. She was a part of the box office hit “Princess Diaries”. She bore out the actress in her when she performed the lead role in “A Walk to Remember” which soared the box office in 2002. The soundtracks of this movie, “Cry” and “Only Hope” were atop the charts of music bars and stations. In June 2002 she even snagged an MTV Award for her two- thumbs up performance in “A Walk to Remember” Still pumping out flicks, Mandy Moore performed in hit movies “How to Deal” in 2003, and “Chasing Liberty” and Cursed in 2004.

It is this girl’s greatest dream to set foot in Broadway. Off- camera, she values education and still opts to learn through home schooling. Aside from being an actress and singer, Mandy wants to be a journalist like her mom.
