Katherine Heigl was born on November 24, 1978 in Washington D.C., U.S.A. her parents are Nancy and Paul. She had two older brothers, named John and Meg. Her older sibling Jason died of accident in 1986. Her family decided to donate his organs. This tragedy made Katherine appreciate her existence. Her occupation as an actress was instrumental to her goal of promoting the act of organ donation.

In the year that followed, Katherine starred in “Under Siege: Dark Territory”, in which she was “Sarah Ryback”. Katherine became more interested in her movie career. Another big break came in 1996 when she had a major role in Disney’s Wish Upon a Star”. In the same year, her parents divorced. She decided to live with her mother in Canyon, L.A. Her mom eventually became her talent manager. In 1997, Katherine took part in the movie “Stand Ins”. She was also in “Prince Valiant” in the year that followed. She also tried doing horror movies, and proved her talent there. She starred in “Bug Buster” and in “Chuckie” in 1998.

She extended her appearances to television in “The Tonight Show” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”. The peek of her career in television was when she filled in the role of Isabel Evans in the sci-fi drama, “Roswell” in 1999. The show was cancelled in 2002. Since then, Katherine kept herself busy with other projects. She appeared in “Cradle of Darkness”. She has also starred in a psycho-thriller entitled “The Fall of the House of Usher”. She also performed the role of Romy in telepic called “Romy and Michelle: Behind the Velvet Rope”.
