Jessica Simpson’s aptitude for singing was discovered at a church summer camp in Dallas, Texas where she was born on July 10, 1980. Jessica Simpson auditioned in the Mickey Mouse Club, hit the finals but froze and didn’t make it.

While attending a religious summer camp after that year, Jessica performed an acappella version of "Amazing Grace" for one of the guest speakers who is fortunately launching a new gospel music label, the CCM label. She signed up but started to hit the Christian Youth Conference circuit also sharing bills with Ce Ce Winan, God's Property and Kirk Franklin after the label has gone under.

During the late 90’s, Jessica decidedly switched from her grown up Christian music singing career to the world of singing career knowing that she can express her self more. There she met Sony Music Entertainment Chairman and CEO Tommy Mottola, who was astounded by her voice.

A contralto and a coloratura as well as having a solid, five-octave range, Jessica Simpson released her debut album Sweet Kisses with Columbia Records. Two cuts from the album, I Wanna Love You Forever and I Think I'm In Love, received magnitude of praises from listeners and was regularly in the play list in various radio stations.

Her follow-up album featured a distinctive sexy part of her which titled Irresistible (2001). The title track shattered the airwaves as it enters the chart on the Top 40 Mainstream (#3) Top 40 Tracks (#5) the Rhythmic Top 40 (#12) and Hot 100 (#15).

An all time fan of Pretty Woman (1990), Jessica also entered the world of motion picture. While Irresistible is having an awesome place in the airwaves, Jessica started her acting career. She was a cast on “That 70's Show” and part of an episode for UPN's "The Twilight Zone."

In 2002, Jessica Simpson married 98 Degrees lead vocalist Nick Lachey who became her inspiration in launching her third album in August 2003 which titled In This Skin. That’s what love can do, I say. She was even featured in the book I Do: Achieving Your Dream Wedding where she shared a piece of her sweet wedding story and gave some tips on planning a wedding. They’ve also got a duo character in MTV’s The Newlyweds reality show which was a considerable smash hit and even made her consider of pursuing a part filling Barbra Eden's shoes, in the movie "I Dream of Jeannie." The couple currently resides in Calabasas, California which is also the spot of their show "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica" (2003).

Among her credits are #1 on 'Maxim' top 100 hot list for 2004, #1 for VH1's Top Ten best bodies (also a head turner, huh). In the recent 2004 Teen Choice Awards, Jessica harvested three awards namely Favorite Reality/Variety TV Star Female, Female Hottie and Fashion Icon Female.
