Christina Ricci is the daughter of a lawyer and youngest among four children. She was born in Santa Monica, California on February 12, 1980 but she moved along with her family in New York when she was eight. In here, she got here first acting in commercials. She right away got her break when Richard Benjamin directed her and featured her as Cher’s younger daughter in Mermaids. A year after, she starred in the movie Wednesday Addams that made also a big hit. It is somewhat an adaptation or reinvention of The Addams Family. Many positive feedbacks were given to her in that movie; they have seen her as beginning to come into her own. She had subsequent roles in movies like Buffalo ’66, John Waters Packer, and Don Roos’ The Opposite of Sex, which the latter gave her a big break when she was nominated for a Golden Globe in portraying the role as Deedee. Her awards in 1998 were Best Supporting Actress in the films Buffalo ’66, The Opposite of Sex and Pecker, all of which have won.

In 1999, she had been into films like 200 Cigarettes, Dessert Blue and Sleepy Hollow that she played Gothic princess and co-starred with Johnny Depp. In 2000, Ricci was featured in movies such as: The Man Who Cried, in which she played the role of a young woman whom during WWII fled from Germany to Paris; Bless the Child, a film which is somewhat like a supernatural thriller; The Laramie Project in 2002 and the Pumpkin which is a romantic comedy drama movie. The story of this film is that Ricci is a popular sorority girl who fell in love to a mentally disabled young athlete whom she volunteered to help. Movies also such as Miranda, The Gathering, both are in 2002 are box office hits.

Later in 2003, she made a movie entitled I Love Your Work, which is a dark psychological drama plus the film, Anything Else which is rather a comedy and romance. In 2005, Cursed is expected to be released which is an action, adventure and suspense horror.

Ricci, despite that she started at a very young age, she was able to maintain her fame. She is also one of the sexiest women of her age and it seems that everybody’s looking forward on her next projects and movies.
