Christina Aguilera is one great singer known today. She was born in Staten Island on December 18, 1980. Her parents were of Irish, Eucadorian stock.

She began performing when she was six. She participated in school talent shows where her potential as a singer was seen. She was ten when she sang the National Anthem of Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. When she was twelve, she joined “The New Mickey Mouse Club” where she worked with Britney Spears, Justin of ‘N Sync, J.C. and Keri Russel of Felicity.

In 2001, she was featured along with Lil’ Kim, Maya, and Pink in the revival of Patti LaBelle’s “Lady Marmalade” which was a soundtrack of Moulin Rouge. Lady Marmalade gave awards to Christina. First it won the 2002 ALMA Award for outstanding Song in a Motion Picture Soundtrack. Second, it got the title of the “Best Video from a Film” in the first MTV Japan Music Video Awards.

After the smashing hits of “Reflection”, “Genie in a Bottle”, and “What a Girl Wants, What a Girl Needs”, Christina’s music has changed gears and direction. According to her, it is time to unmask and reveal her true self through her songs.

Her consequent single, “Beautiful”, “Fighter”, and her newest “Dirrty” as well as all the songs in her new album “Strip” all speak for the uncovering that Christina talks about. Fighter won the “Pop Video of the Year” in 2004 Music Video Production Association Awards. For “Beautiful”, she earned two awards. First, she got the title of the “Best Female Pop Vocal Performer” which is her fourth Grammy award already; and second, earned a special award for it in the GLAAD Awards. Her latest single, “Dirrty”, was called the “Best Single” at the Q Awards; and won the “Sexiest Video Award” from Yahoo and Launch.com users. Christina Aguilera also bears the title of the “Best International Female Performer” both in MTV Europe and Channel V Thailand.
