Professionally, Amanda Bynes excels as comedian, a role which is usually performed and reserved for males. But for Amanda, she’s one hell of a laugh jerker and is now one of the FEW females hailed for her aptitude in doing so.

Amanda Laura Bynes was born in Thousand Oaks, California on April 3, 1996 to father Rick, who is a dentist and mother Lynn, who works in her father's dental office. She has a sister named Jillian and a brother named Tommy who is a chiropractor.

Amanda started out on her acting career at a comedy camp. In community plays where she attended, a reviewer from Venture Star newspaper labeled her as sensational and impressive and more other raving reviews. Her unceasing drive to pursue her career brought her in a showcase performance in LA where she was discovered by Dan Schneider and Brian Robbins. Impressed by her acting ability, she was included in the cast of Nickelodeon's All That. She has proven her self already in just a period of one season where she was immediate nominated for 1997 Ace Awards positioning her alongside time-honored actresses Janeane Garofalo and Tracet Ulman.

Since then, she has appeared in various Nickelodeon shows like for example hosting her own variety sketch show, "The Amanda Show" (1999), at an early age of twelve. It was in this show that she earned the Favorite Television Actress honor for three consecutive years (a grand slam!) from Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.
Dealing with her roles with such maturity and sincerity, she was even nominated for The Hollywood Reporter’s Young Star Award in the category of Best Performance by a Young Actress in a Comedy Television Series.

Amanda switched from the PG-13 orb casting in the short-lived “The Nightmare Room.” The following year, she had her film debut with “Big Fat Liar” co-starring Frankie Muniz. With her witty-humorous style, she’s got all the reason for audience appreciation plus, the movie was a smash hit.

Amanda got her first major role in the romantic-comedy flick “What a Girl Wants” in 2003 which again received raving reviews. Her voice will be heard in voice in another production titled “Robots” in 2005 as the voice of Piper.

Amanda Bynes exhibit uniqueness in her craft as a young artist. Being a comedian has always been a challenging role especially for youngsters.
